Homosexuality is capturing headlines once again.
 

WASHINGTON (May 20) By James Vicini, Reuter: The Supreme Court Monday struck down a controversial state requirement outlawing legal protections intended solely for homosexuals in its first major gay rights decision in 10 years. The nation's highest court, by a 6 - 3 vote, declared that a 1992 Colorado measure barring state or local governments from adopting homosexual rights laws denies gays and lesbians equal protection under the U.S. Constitution. His (Justice Anthony Kennedy ) sweeping 14 page ruling rejected the state's argument that the law respects other citizens' freedom of association, especially the rights of landlords or employers who have personal or religious objections to homosexuality.

Reuter, LONDON (May 20): A gay British teenager has asked the European Court of Human Rights to intervene in a challenge over the age of consent for sex between homosexuals. Euan Sutherland, 19, will hear Tuesday whether the court will accept the case which could force Britain to lower the age limit forgay sex from 18 to 16, bringing it into line with heterosexuals. We think we've got a pretty strong case. There's no justification for this discrimination," Sutherland's lawyer, Stephen Grosz, said Saturday. Britain's parliament voted in 1994 to lower the homosexual age of consent from 21 to 18. A move to equalize it with the heterosexual age of consent at 16 was narrowly defeated.

A homosexual activist group is advertising the Sixth Annual Gay and Lesbian Day at Walt Disney World this month (June), with a home page on the Internet. Their site can be accessed at http://www.gayday.com. When the sight is accessed, the title page shows Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck holding hands. Daisy Duck and Minnie Mouse are seen exchanging a love glance. Among other things, this site praises the Walt Disney Company for providing gay couples company benefits.

The homosexual cause is being presented as another civil rights issue. I beg to differ with this facade. As I have sifted through recently generated homosexual publicity, I have noticed that Gods holy word is seldom mentioned. If it is mentioned at all, it is in the context of scorn and ridicule. The Bible teaches us many things about homosexuality. First of all we know that homosexuality is self inflicted. It is listed as sin (Rom. 1:25-27), and sin is self induced (James 1:14-15.) Secondly, homosexuality can be unlearned. In 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 we read, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." The homosexual Corinthians who obeyed the gospel were no longer effeminate, or abusers of themselves with mankind, they were Christians. Furthermore, homosexuality will keep one from entering into heaven (1 Cor. 6:9.) Our Government might buckle under the pressure, and eventually legalize homosexuality. But Gods word is not going to change.

God loves all people (John 3:16; Romans 5:8), but He hates sin. His book offers man guidelines detailing acceptable behavior. By living as God desires, we demonstrate our love for God (Jn. 14:15.) Homosexuals can change and be forgiven, if they desire to love the Lord.
